We are really trying to build up our program so we can serve more people. Having a current, decent looking website will help us get the word out!
Our Mission Statement
Habitat for Humanity works in partnership with God and people everywhere, from all walks of life, to develop communities with God's people in need by building and renovating houses so there are decent houses in decent communities in which people can live and grow into all that God intended.
Who we are
We are a nonprofit organization whose mission is to build simple, decent, affordable housing for people in our community who are economically challenged. Funding for the agency comes primarily from local individuals, churches, the business community, and the United Way.
What we do
Habitat in the Freeborn/Mower county areas use as much donated material and volunteer labor as possible. The homes we build are sold at no profit and not interest to families who would otherwise not be able to afford home ownership.
Habitat's Family Selection Committee, made up of volunteers, selects each homeowner based on the greatest need, willingness to partner, and ability to pay. Once a home is sold, the monthly payments made by the homeowners are "recycled" by Habitat to build additional houses.
