Our History
In early 1990 a group of concerned citizens met to discuss the lack of low-cost housing in the Freeborn and Mower County areas. The group decided to become a part of Habitat for Humanity International. A steering Committee was selected, and the work began. Over the next few months the By-laws were written, the Articles of Incorporation submitted and approved so Habitat for Humanity Freeborn/Mower was ready to go.
We became an affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International in 1991.
The first Board was elected in May, 1991.
We have built 28 homes since then!
