A Brush With Kindness
Freeborn/Mower Habitat for Humanity is beginning a new program called A Brush With Kindness.
- A Brush with Kindness is a nation-wide program serving low-income homeowners who struggle to maintain the exterior of their homes.
- It is an exterior home preservation service that offers painting, landscaping, and other minor exterior home services.
- We select partner familes based on income, need and willingness to partner. A no-interest loan is made to the homeowner to cover the costs of the project. Payments made by the homeowner are placed in a revolving fund to help Habitat for Humanity’s A Brush with Kindness program serve others in need.
- A Brush with Kindness uses volunteer labor, homeowner sweat equity and donations from local businesses and churches to make repairs on homes, helping keep costs low. It helps low-income homeowners continue to live independently and securely in their homes as well as increasing property value, bring communities together and the improve overall appearance of the neighborhood we live in.
- It is a great way for Freeborn/Mower Habitat for Humanity to reach a greater number of homeowners in need. It is also a great way to get all ages and skill levels involved with helping their community through volunteering.
